RATIONALE
To create competent social media managers that are able to utilize social media platforms for growing their businesses.
COURSE RATIONALE
According to my.yougov.com, one in six Malaysians spend more than 9 hours a day on social media (statistics dated 2019). Statista.com reports that the average time spent using social media in Malaysia in Quarter 3 2020 is 3 hours.
It’s undeniable that Malaysians are top consumers when it comes to social media. These data confirm the necessity for businesses to be present, to be relevant, and to be heard online, especially on social media platforms. If this is where the customers are, it is where the businesses should be.
Social media is thought to be easy. Since we are using it daily to handle our personal accounts, businesses make the mistake of treating their business profiles like a personal one – no strategy in the contents, no branding whatsoever, not creating sales opportunities. What a waste of free platforms!
This course will help individuals and business owners improve their social media management skills. Unlike other courses that teaches participants how to set up and run a fanpage, this course focuses on business aspects – marketing, branding, strategy, for without them a business has no business on social media. Participants will learn imperative business concepts, effective management skills, and creative content creation.
COURSE OUTCOME

Identify the uniqueness of each social media platform.
